With a background in biology and marketing, Tatiana's journey began in 2018 when she volunteered in Kibera, Nairobi's largest informal settlement. Witnessing both the hardships and the extraordinary creative potential of the community ignited her commitment to meaningful change. In 2021, she relocated to Kenya to fully immerse herself in local culture, learning directly from skilled artisans. By 2023, AfroWema was born — a brand dedicated to blending African heritage with eco-conscious fashion through upcycled denim, handwoven fabrics, and traditional textiles like Kitenge.
