"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!' So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, 'Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.'" (Lk. 2:13-15)

The peace the angels were praising God for was the peace between God and man. Prior to Jesus' birth there was wrath from God against mankind for his sins. But the birth of Jesus signaled the end of conflict between God and man. The Savior of the world, our Messiah would one day put away sin once and for all by the sacrificing of Himself (Heb. 9:26). This Child, this Son Who was born and given to us (Is. 9:6)  ...
