AFTER THE AMEN | A Conversation on Serving
This week at Cornerstone Ministries we had “UnCommon Weekend”, where instead of meeting for regular church services, our congregation went out into the community and served different homes and businesses to share the love of Jesus Christ in tangible ways. KEY MOMENTS At 4:41, Pastor Paul and Pastor Brandon kick off the conversation by discussing what UnCommon weekend means about our church. They follow this by discussing what the mission of a weekend like this is. At 10:10, Pastor Brandon asks a question regarding why loving God and loving people should not be separated, and what happens when we separate them. At 15:00, they talk through the difference between serving someone to get something in return versus serving for no gain. At 20:09, Pastor Brandon asks, “how does scripture challenge the idea that some acts of service are more important than others?” At 24:59, the conversation continues with the topic of guarding against serving people without genuinely caring for them. At 26:45, they give practical steps on what to do now that UnCommon is over and how to live this mindset out.
