The frenzied attack in June 1991 happened in broad daylight in a busy area, she was stabbed over fifty times as she sat behind the steering wheel of her car.

Two witnesses spotted Penny’s Jaguar XJS crawling along at 10mph, its hazard lights flashing.

As one overtook her, Penny appeared to be wrestling with someone in the car. She was also seen mouthing "HELP ME!", but no one stopped.
