There are all sorts of things that can make us fearful and anxious. There are internal struggles that make us feel anxious as we wrestle with sin and weakness. There are external struggles that make us anxious as we face all sorts of difficulties and challenges in a world broken by sin. There are real threats that make us anxious – illness, wayward children, financial struggles, wars, things on the news, etc. And then there are also possible threats that make us anxious – fearing rejection, loss of job, the worst-case scenarios, etc. There is no lack of things in this life that may lead us to be fearful and anxious.
