In this episode, we speak with Molly Theodora Oringer, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology at UCLA, about Lebanon's Jewish communities and the way they are remembered by non-Jewish Lebanese today. Molly discusses the history of modern Lebanon and the way the development of "Lebaneseness" and Lebanon as a nation-state impacted Jews in the country. She also explores the idea of the "cultural broker" and how it is that non-Jewish Lebanese interact with "Jewish spaces," particularly when Jews are absent from such spaces.
