Fringey Mini: Whats the street outside of Nicholas Cage's house in Malibu up to?

A sinkhole opens in front of Nicolas Cage’s Malibu home and somehow the real story is the emotional fallout among the ultra‑wealthy. In this mini‑sode, we unpack the LA Times report on oceanfront mansions shaking like tuning forks, cliff‑top residents feeling smugly untouchable, and the strange social hierarchy of who’s in the ocean versus who merely gazes down upon it. It’s climate chaos, coastal drama, and premium‑grade rich‑people delusion — Malibu edition. Too big to move

A decades‑old UFO rumor gets dragged back into the spotlight as Taylor and Chelsea dive into the strange lore of the “UFO too big to move.” From John Lear’s 1988 claim that a saucer was “so enormous… it was buried at the crash site” to Ross Coulthart’s modern revival of the idea, the hosts unravel how internet sleuths, politicians, and Stephen Greer turned a Korean radio facility into alleged extraterrestrial real estate. Equal parts fringe history, media criticism, and chaotic laughter. Fringey Mini: Mexican Environmental Journalist Murder

We break down the tragic killing of Mexican environmental journalist Alex Serna, whose body was found in Zihuatanejo after reporting on corruption, illegal resource extraction, and environmental abuses. We explore what his death reveals about Mexico’s escalating danger for reporters and the systemic failures that leave journalists unprotected. In this episode, we examine the disturbing case of Alex Serna, an environmental journalist and content creator whose body was discovered in Zihuatanejo after he went missing on June 20. Serna was known for exposing corruption tied to environmental exploitation — from illegal water extraction to questionable tree removals and pier demolitions — and had recently shared a death threat allegedly connected to the local mayor’s family. His killing marks the third journalist murdered in Mexico in less than a month, underscoring the country’s status as the most dangerous place for reporters in the Western Hemisphere. We discuss the failures of local and federal authorities, the lack of protection programs, and the broader climate of impunity that continues to endanger journalists who challenge powerful interests. Fringey Mini: Pac Man for plastic

This Wednesday we have a good news plastic story about Pacman, i'm pretty sure that's how the mini went from what I remember. I'd also like to add that (this is Chelsie editing) what I do remember, at this later date (don't put me on the spot about things), is that the Philosophy course was actually called: Science vs. Religion; does God exist? I liked to look at the course as inteliggent design vs. an almighty God. So now you know because I wasn't quite getting there in the episode. I hate it when people put me on the spot. Welp, have a nice Wednesday! For shits and giggles like, follow and ... share, is that the last one? Comment on our episode, send us an email- I dare you, you've got 48 hours. https://goodgreen.news/newly-discovered-pac-man-enzyme-can-break-down-some-plastics-in-less-than-three-months/

Western Sahara

Today we dive into the Ceuta migrant crisis and the tangled history behind Morocco’s disputed border with Western Sahara. From colonial leftovers to modern geopolitics, this episode unpacks how an 80,000‑person border breach connects to decades of conflict, resources, and a dotted line that still divides North Africa. In this episode of Journey to the Fringe, Taylor and Chelsea tackle one of the most complex and overlooked stories in modern geopolitics, the Ceuta migrant crisis and the strange dotted border between Morocco and Western Sahara. What began as a sudden surge of 80,000 migrants crossing into Spain’s North African enclaves unfolds into a deep exploration of colonial legacies, the Sahrawi people’s fight for independence, and the decades‑long tug‑of‑war between Morocco, Algeria, and Mauritania. Through humor, history, and speculation, the hosts trace how Spain’s fading empire, phosphate wealth, and the elusive promise of oil shaped a region still caught between autonomy and occupation. It’s a crash course in borders, power, and the human cost of unresolved history — all told in Journey to the Fringe’s signature mix of curiosity and wit.

Fringey Mini: There's no way the royals are human

King Charles III once shrieked after encountering cling film for the first time—at least according to a story shared in Tom Bower’s Rebel Prince. In this mini‑episode, we break down the anecdote, why it went viral, and what it reveals (or doesn’t) about royal quirks. In this mini‑episode, we dive into a bizarre royal anecdote pulled from Tom Bower’s Rebel Prince: the claim that King Charles III once walked into a dining room, saw cling film covering food, and shrieked in confusion. Camilla reportedly rushed in, thinking something was wrong, only to find Charles pointing at the wrapped dish and asking what it was. We unpack how this story fits into Bower’s broader portrayal of Charles as disconnected from everyday life, explore whether the anecdote holds any weight—especially since Clarence House declined to comment—and look at how tales like this shape public perception of the monarchy. Along the way, we touch on other quirks mentioned in the book, from Charles’ four‑outfit days to his famously particular daily routines. It’s a fun, strange, and very human moment in the middle of royal mythology.

Events Occurred: the backyard

In this episode, we're checking out the Las Vegas backyard encounter that had cops spooked, neighbors losing TV signal, and one very calm teenager describing 10‑foot slimy beings like it was just another Tuesday. From fireballs streaking across the sky to mysterious circles in the dirt, Men‑in‑Black drive‑bys, Homeland Security plot twists, and a crucifix doing acrobatics, we sift through the chaos to figure out whether this was aliens, crawlers, demons, a PSYOP… or just the weirdest HOA problem ever. Tune in, share, follow, and tell your friends — especially the ones who don’t believe in 10‑foot backyard visitors. It's Fringey Mini day and we're bringing back a Fringey favorite: Rich People’s Emoceannnnns! We’re unpacking the wild true story of a guy who bought a $5.5 million Cape Cod mansion that was quite literally teetering on the edge of a crumbling cliff. When gravity inevitably wins, how does our wealthy homeowner try to get out of paying his massive mortgage? Let's just say his legal defense to the bank is... highly creative, depending on your definition of creative. Join us as we critique budget beach stairs, side with judgmental local seals, and marvel at the sheer chutzpah of trying to outsmart the ocean.
