The Upper Limit Problem (ULP) - the evolutionary hard-wired default mode of the brain which says we can only have a limited amount of success.

Have you hit an upper limit?

E.g,: Getting sick before an important pitch. Starting a fight with your spouse after raising a round. Yelling at your kids after closing a customer. Signing a terrible term sheet and giving power away to a board member or misaligned investor.

The problem:

We have a limited tolerance for feeling good. When we hit our Upper Limit, we manufacture thoughts that make us feel bad. We have a limited tolerance for life going well.

When we hit our Upper Limit, we do something that stops our positive forward trajectory.
