Meet Johnnie, a 17 year old boy growing up in 1927 Atlantic City. In Episode 1: Apartment 2C, Johnnie tries to talk with his mother, Clara, about his desire to take piano lessons, before they are interrupted by his police officer father. The girl next door, Della, stops by to read Johnnie a poem and share her own dreams with him.
