di IRA's Pub
Stagione 1
Virginia Bourbon
Esplicito
The team is broadcasting from the Peacock Room this episode, and the choice of the month is Open Road Distillery's Reserve Bourbon. Mike, Zach, Sam, Chris L, and Chris G take a walk through a little bourbon history, both origins and what can affect the bourbon as it ages. Make a pour choice with us!
Blind Bottle Tasting - Bourbon
Esplicito
No real history here- this is strictly a taste test and a guessing game. The guys each bring a bottle for tasting, but only one person knows who brought what. Join us as we try to figure out what we are drinking, who brought it, and what our thoughts are for each pour. This episode proves that sometimes your eyes deceive your tastes. Special thanks to Chris Leone for being our bartender during this tasting!
The Luck of the Grain
Esplicito
Join the crew as we Irish it up! We discuss some Irish whiskey terms and sample some Drumshanbo Single Pot Triple-distilled in celebration of St. Paddy's!
Whiskey Terms and Canadian Pours
Esplicito
Gather around the bar for Episode 2 of IRA's Whiskey and Whiskers. The boys discuss different terms that get used for different blends: what they mean, the differences between them, and how to understand the different labelings. A Crown Royal Reserve 12 year is the bottle of the month as we discuss how we feel about the offering from our neighbors up north.
Budget Browns
Esplicito
Our inaugural episode is all about "Budget Browns"- whiskeys under $50 that are great starters for those looking to find a place to start, or for those that want to have more options available to them without breaking the bank. The group samples five different whiskeys and gives their thoughts on each- flavor notes, aroma, and good examples of how to enjoy the whiskey. Sampled in this episode are Four Walls American/Irish blend, Speyburn 10 year scotch, Russell's Reserve 6 year rye, Michter's Small Batch Sour Mash, and Knob Creek 9 year bourbon.
