Because by this afternoon, you're hitting 49. That's a 23 degrees climb in just a few hours. Western Iowa, you're the star of the show today. Starting at 24 degrees this morning, you'll surge all the way to 59 by mid-afternoon. That's shorts weather if you're brave enough. Central Iowa, you're at 26 now and headed to 49. Eastern Iowa and the Quad Cities wake up coolest at 22, but you'll still reach the upper 40s. One thing to watch: dense fog is hugging northwestern Iowa and the Minnesota border this morning.
