In the "flower houses" (upscale brothels) of Shanghai, various interweaving stories of love, loyalty, and deceit play out subtly. Ugh man. FLOWERS OF SHANGHAI is gorgeously, exquisitely shot from start to finish, but I had some issues with it. I do love Tony Leung though. Phenomenal actor. I think there's a good movie somewhere in this. It just wasn't for me.
