But down in Central Illinois, a whole different story is unfolding. Thunderstorms are rumbling through with penny-size hail reported near Sullivan and Bethany. A sharp temperature divide splits the state today. 30 degrees up north, 43 degrees in Central Illinois, all under that persistent overcast. In the next 24 hours. Tonight, fog becomes the headline. Patchy fog develops after midnight statewide, but Central Illinois sees the bigger impacts. Showers and thunderstorms continue there with a 90 percent chance of rain.
