In honour of Women’s History Month, we are delighted to invite Farrah Wong to share her experience as a professional woman in finance and her current venture being an entrepreneur of a jewellery brand. After graduating from ICBS, Farrah successfully landed a position in Global Markets division in an investment bank in London and has ever since widened her horizons on different workplace cultures that different cities have to offer. Moving on from work, she is now further actualising her vision to empower modern-day women by launching her own jewellery brand and pursuing her creativity with a new NFT collection. Hello everyone, this time we have a guest from the IT industry! John Wang from China studied computer science and applied math for his bachelor degree in the USA. He started as a software engineer in 2014, first in Microsoft, and now works in Amazon as a team manager. He is responsible for leading a team of software engineers to build scalable technologies in the digital streaming service and smart TV sector. Now, he is doing a weekend MBA at Imperial College London to stretch his knowledge regarding business and management. His work requires interacting with people from different sectors such as strategy, finance, and marketing. Thus, he felt it is very relevant to understand elements of management and business better. Hopefully, everyone will take this excellent opportunity to learn in-depth regarding the IT industry and learn alongside us what John does and how does he do it

CONNECT POD: #3 Building Purposeful Careers in Europe with Shirley Liu

Time pass by fast. Cannot believe Connect Pod is already on the third episode! This time we have our first female guest, Shirley Liu! Shirley has a multi-cultural background, holding British and Taiwanese dual citizenships, grew up in Thailand, is UK- and US- educated and a Parisienne at heart. She built her international executive marketing career with cosmetics giants, L'Oréal and Estée Lauder in the United Kingdom, France and the Asia-Pacific region. Shirley is also a passionate advocate for Psychology. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and currently in postgraduate training at King’s College London Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN). She will share her experience of leadership and psychology and explain how those work together to make a better leader.
