Rojine has been an influential student in the University of Alberta since 2019 and has increasingly invested her time toward creating a team with the goal of achieving sustainable food-packaging across the university of Alberta campuses. Through our conversation, we discussed about studying in honours programs, sustainability, starting and pushing a student initiative toward being influential across the community, as well as her experiences being a bicultural child. Rowan is the former president of the Student Union of the University of Alberta. Through this episode, he takes us through his journey toward this position, describes the adversities and challenges he faced, and highlights the lessons he learned through leading students in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Behnia is a 22 year old alumni from the Iowa State University. He left Iran in 2016 at the age of 17, started his studies in biolphysics in 2017. He is the Goldwater scholar of 2020, the winner of Wallace E. Barron Senior Award of 2021, the Summa Cum Laude graduate of 2021 with 2 publications, the Amgen research scholar at the Duke University, and right now he is working as a full-time researhcer at NIH.
