Season 6: Episode 04 - Anonymous

In this episode, we hear from an anonymous student at James River High School. Tune in for the next few minutes as she shares her journey from Venezuela to Colombia, and from Colombia to Virginia. She details the obstacles she and her family faced throughout their immigration and talks about what gives her hope. We also have an amazing ESL teacher, Ms. Gail, with us in order to facilitate the conversation. This episode is in both English and Spanish. *Also, a side note: this interview was filmed in a school, so there are a few times when there are pauses due to interruptions that had to be cut for the sake of the flow.

He also happens to be the past head coach of the James River girls volleyball team during some of their most prominent seasons. Each mini episode will be an interview of a 2023 capstone happening at James River, we will talk about what they are doing and why they are doing it. Our first mini episode is Brooke Long and Raigan Kelley's capstone which is "Heroes on the Diamond." In this episode we discuss their lives growing up with military and 1st responders in their families and how they wanted to give back to that community. We will also talk about their intention of creating a place for teens, first responders, and military to bond.
