The Bible is strikingly clear: “Only by pride cometh contention.” That word only leaves no room for excuses. Pride is not just a cause of conflict—it is the cause. Pride demands to be right. Pride insists on being heard. Pride refuses to yield, apologize, or admit weakness. Even when it disguises itself as passion, conviction, or strength, pride still produces the same fruit—contention.
