After the feeding of the multitudes, crowds gathered around Jesus seeking something more. Jesus obliged their desire by offering them his flesh and blood. In fact, he insisted that they must eat his flesh and drink his blood in order to have eternal life. Unsurprisingly, the crowds were shocked and appalled at the suggestion.
