Balance as we know it, is a myth
In this episode I break down my view on why balance as we know it is a myth and how to really focus on realistic balance, that also give a realistic chance of success across all sectors of your life. When striving for "Balance", it feels almost impossible to make any real progress and often turns into a taking action in 4 different directions at once, and getting absolutely nowhere. the reality is, balance doesn't come from doing all things at once, it comes from prioritizing, focusing, executing then moving on to the next thing in a series of mini sprints. In this episode we cover: -why balance is not like a light switch but more a combination of dimmers. -the process of dialing up in one area and the necessary focus with that -the cost and imbalance that comes along with progress -and the distinction between passion and obsession and how both are vital in forward movement.
The Hidden Cost of "Taking a Break"
Taking a month off seemed like a good idea until I tried to start again. I realized I was paying a "Restart Tax" I couldn't afford. In this episode, I’m getting honest about why I fell off the wagon, the cognitive load of re-entry, and why your "maintenance mode" is actually a trap. If you’ve been struggling to get back to a project, a habit, or a dream.... this is your wake-up call. What we cover: The 3 hidden costs of the Restart Tax. Why "getting back on track" is harder than staying on it. The exact strategy I used to record this episode today.

Ep 24. Journaling Didn’t Change My Life - This Did
Most people think journaling is about writing down your feelings. It’s not. This episode breaks down how journaling actually became a tool for clarity, control, and execution—and why the difference between the days I journal and the days I don’t… are completely different. If you’ve been feeling: overwhelmed inconsistent stuck in your own head This will hit. What We Get Into: Why journaling isn’t soft (and what most people get wrong) The real reason you feel busy but not productive What happens when I DON’T journal vs when I DO How journaling impacts fitness, discipline, and consistency The simple morning + evening framework I use daily Key Takeaways: Most people don’t have a discipline problem—they have a thinking problem If your thoughts are messy, your actions will be too The thing you’re avoiding is usually the thing that matters most You don’t need a better plan—you need a clearer mind The Journaling Framework: Morning (5 minutes — Direction) What am I grateful for? What actually matters today? What am I avoiding? One non-negotiable action Evening (5–7 minutes — Accountability) Did I win the day? (yes/no) What got done Where I fell short What I avoided Top 3 for tomorrow If This Hit You: Try it for 7 days. No perfection. Just honesty.
Ep. 23 Why being seen is so uncomfortable
Most people say they want growth. What they actually want is growth without exposure. In this solo episode, I break down why being seen feels so uncomfortable — and why the discomfort isn’t about failing, it’s about being evaluated. The fear isn’t collapse. It’s reaction. We talk about: -Why visibility feels personal -The psychology of judgment -The scar metaphor and what it really means -The hidden cost of staying invisible -Why confidence comes after exposure, not before -Scars don’t mean you’re broken. They mean you stayed in the game. Growth doesn’t require perfection, it requires the courage to be seen again.
Ep 22. Don’t Just Stand Out - Connect: with Kate Brown
Marketing isn’t just about selling products. It’s about influencing people, building trust, and creating connection. In this conversation with Kate Brown, we explore why standing out isn’t enough — and why the real edge in business and life comes from familiarity, credibility, and showing up consistently. We unpack: Why people choose what feels familiar The difference between attention and trust Why being seen feels uncomfortable How connection compounds over time The identity shift required to lead instead of chase This episode isn’t about tactics. It’s about understanding people. Because growth doesn’t come from being louder — it comes from connecting. Kate Brown Instagram - @katebrowncmo
Ep 21. Execution Is a Skill (Not a Personality Trait)
We talk about execution like it’s something you either have or you don’t. Like discipline is a personality trait. Like some people are just built different. This episode reframes that idea completely. Execution isn’t something you’re born with — it’s something you learn. In this solo episode, I break down why most people struggle to follow through, why discomfort is often misinterpreted as failure, and how execution is actually trained through repetition, not motivation. Using lessons from fitness, leadership, and real life, we explore the difference between luck and execution, why timelines matter more than intensity, and how small, unsexy decisions compound into real momentum over time. If you’ve ever felt stalled, frustrated, or convinced that “this just isn’t working,” this episode is for you. In this episode, we cover: The myth of execution and why people believe it’s a personality trait Why discomfort is often proof the process is working Luck vs execution and what people don’t see behind results How execution was proven to me through fitness, leadership, and relationships A simple framework for learning how to execute consistently Why most people quit because their timelines are unrealistic A practical challenge to build momentum immediately This isn’t about hype or motivation. It’s about learning to show up, finish small promises, and repeat long enough for identity to catch up. Learn, then act. Action builds momentum.
Ep 20. Why people quit when motivation dies
Motivation always dies. Not because you failed, but because it was never meant to last. This episode is about what happens after the excitement fades. When winter energy hits, progress feels flat, and the emotional fuel that got you started is gone. This is the phase where most people quietly quit — not because they can’t do it, but because they misunderstand what this part of the process is supposed to feel like. We break down: Why motivation is temporary by design Why low energy doesn’t mean you’re on the wrong path How winter exposes weak systems, not weak people The lies people tell themselves when quitting feels easier than staying How to reset without starting over What grounded optimism actually looks like (and why fake positivity makes things worse) This isn’t a hype episode. It’s an honesty episode. If motivation is gone and you’re wondering what to do next, this is for you!
Ep 18. Slow Down to Speed Up
In this solo episode, Brenton breaks down why the fastest performers don’t push harder at the end of the year, they get intentional. Using the Formula 1 pit stop as a framework, this episode explores coaching, calibration, and strategic pauses as key drivers of long-term performance. December isn’t about slowing down. It’s about preparing to enter the new year with clarity and momentum. In This Episode: -Why slowing down is a strategy, not a setback -The Formula 1 pit stop analogy and performance -The importance of coaches and outside perspective -How coaching shows up across mindset, business, fitness, and nutrition -Why success puts strain on the system without maintenance -Using the holiday season as a reset point -Gratitude without complacency -Setting up January with intention Key Takeaways: -Speed without maintenance leads to breakdown -High performers rely on systems and coaching -Strategic pauses create sustainable momentum -Acknowledging progress strengthens consistency December is for calibration, not coasting Slowing down isn’t about doing less. It’s about making sure what you’re building actually lasts. Use this season to tune the machine and move into the new year with purpose.
Ep 16. Winter is Coming - Discipline over Motivation
Winter isn’t the season that slows you down, it’s the season that exposes you. In this episode, Brenton breaks down why the colder months crush motivation, how your biology shifts in winter, and why discipline becomes your biggest advantage when everyone else starts to coast. You’ll learn: • The real science behind winter fatigue, low energy, and mental fog • Why you’re not “broken”, your body is seasonal • How winter quietly becomes the leverage season for people who stay consistent • Personal stories from the trades and real estate that prove discipline beats motivation • A full strategy to combat the winter drop in momentum: body, business, mindset, and environment • A simple set of non-negotiables you can follow starting tomorrow This episode is your blueprint for staying sharp, focused, and hungry through the months most people fall apart. If you want next year to be different, this is where the work begins. SHARE YOUR WINTER NON-NEGOTIABLE: Message me on Instagram with the #1 habit you’re locking in this winter.
