How are you making space to hear God’s voice?
In this episode of Generations at the Table, Megann Marcellino talks about the powerful Hebrew word “Shema,” which means to listen, heed, hear, and obey. The ancient and foundational Hebrew prayer of the Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5 and referenced by Jesus in Mark 12:29-31, calls us into a rhythm of obedience, attentiveness, awareness, and alignment. It’s the spiritual discipline of learning to filter every voice and influence through the voice of the Father. We cultivate space to hear and heed Him by:
- Prioritizing the Word: starting the day seeking God’s thoughts before the input of the world
- Silencing Other Voices: limiting external input, such as media, social media, and noise, which can drown out God's voice.
