Throughout the KJV Holy Bible, oil represents God’s anointing, consecration, healing, refreshment, joy, and preparation for service. Kings and priests were anointed, the sick were prayed over and anointed with oil, and oil was used as a picture of God’s blessing and the presence of the Holy Ghost.

“Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” — Psalm 23:5

May we seek the Lord—not merely the symbol—and allow Him to dedicate our lives, strengthen our faith, heal our hearts, and prepare us for His purpose.
