Exposit | Ep 45|John 18:1-11| The King Who Willingly Gives Himself
In John 18:1–11, Jesus enters the garden knowing exactly what awaits Him. Judas arrives with a heavily armed force to arrest Him, yet John presents a striking picture: Jesus is not a helpless victim being taken against His will—He is the sovereign King willingly giving Himself. In this episode, we examine Jesus’ encounter with Judas and the soldiers, the significance of His declaration “I AM,” why the soldiers fall backward, and how Jesus protects His disciples by saying, “If you seek me, let these men go.” We’ll also explore the deeper theological themes of Christ’s sovereignty, the Good Shepherd laying down His life for His sheep, Peter’s attempt to fight with a sword, and Jesus’ declaration: “Shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?” John 18:1–11 takes us straight to the heart of the gospel: Jesus was not conquered by His enemies. He willingly submitted Himself to the cross to accomplish the Father’s redemptive purpose for His people. The King knew. The King protected. The King submitted. And the King willingly gave Himself.
Exposit | Ep 44|John 17:20-26| Jesus Mediates For His People Part 2
What does Jesus mean when He prays that His people “may all be one”? In John 17:20–26, Jesus turns His attention from the apostles to every believer who would come to faith through their proclamation of the Gospel—including us. In this episode of Exposit, we take a deep dive into Christ’s prayer for the unity of His church. This unity is more than simply agreeing on doctrine or avoiding conflict. It is a unity rooted in our union with Christ: we belong to the same Savior, the same Father, the same family, and the same mission. Jesus connects the church’s unity directly to its witness. We are united to Christ, united to one another, and sent into the world to proclaim the Word. Our love for one another is meant to demonstrate to the world that we truly belong to Christ and that the Father really did send the Son. We’ll explore the passage verse by verse, examining its teaching on union with Christ, the Trinity, election, apostolic preaching, Christian unity, the church’s mission, divine love, Christ’s preexistence, glorification, and the believer’s ultimate hope of being with Christ and seeing His glory. The church is not merely united for unity’s sake. We are united in Christ so that Christ might send us into the world as one people, proclaiming one Gospel and displaying His love to a watching world.
Exposit | Ep 43|John 17:1-19 | Jesus Mediates For His People Part 1
John 17 is one of the most profound chapters in all of Scripture. Often called the High Priestly Prayer, this chapter gives us a glimpse into the heart of Christ as He prays just hours before His arrest and crucifixion. In this verse-by-verse exposition, we examine Jesus’ prayer in its biblical context, unpack key Greek words and phrases, and explore how the disciples would have understood His words. We’ll see Christ pray for His own glory, for the preservation and sanctification of His disciples, and for every believer who would come to faith through their message. Join us as we discover the beauty of Christ’s work as our Mediator, the unity of God’s people, the certainty of our salvation, and the love the Father has for those who are in His Son.
Crossroads| Ep 21| The Gospel is Enough
In this episode of Crossroads, we discuss a recent report from Protestia about a church that incorporated a Beyoncé-inspired dance routine into its worship service. Why do churches feel the need to borrow from pop culture to attract people? We examine a bigger question: Is the Gospel enough? Scripture teaches that the power of the church is not found in entertainment, gimmicks, or worldly relevance, but in the faithful proclamation of Christ crucified and risen. We talk about the temptation to replace biblical worship with spectacle and why confidence in the Gospel should shape everything the church does. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” — Romans 1:16
Crossroads| Ep 20| Scripture Above Tribe: When Tradition Meets the Word of God
Every Christian belongs to a theological tradition, whether we recognize it or not. Our traditions, teachers, and confessions can be valuable tools that help us understand Scripture—but what happens when our loyalty to a tradition becomes stronger than our commitment to the Word of God? In this episode of Crossroads, we explore the tension between holding strong theological convictions and remaining humble before Scripture. Doctrine matters. Truth matters. But every belief, every confession, and every tradition must ultimately be tested by the authority of God’s Word. As someone who identifies with the Reformed tradition, I discuss why my commitment to Reformed principles—especially the authority and sufficiency of Scripture—has led me to examine even historic Reformed positions. We will look at examples involving creation, Genesis 6, and the final judgment of the wicked, and discuss what it means to allow Scripture to be our guidepost even when it challenges our own theological tribe. This episode is not about rejecting tradition. It is about putting tradition in its proper place. Traditions can serve the church, but Scripture alone is the final authority. The question is not: “Does my tradition agree with this?” The question is: “Does Scripture teach this?” Join me as we discuss theological humility, biblical conviction, and what it means to continually be reformed by the Word of God. #Crossroads #Theology #BibleStudy #SolaScriptura #ChristianTheology #ReformedTheology
Exposit | Ep 42|John 16:1–33 | Comfort for a Persecuted Church
Jesus prepares His disciples—and by extension His church—to endure persecution by promising the Holy Spirit, assuring them that sorrow will become joy, granting them confident access to the Father, and reminding them that He has already overcome the world. Comfort Through the Spirit (16:1–15) Comfort Through the Resurrection (16:16–24) Comfort Through the Father’s Love (16:25–32) Comfort Through Christ’s Victory (16:33)
Exposit | Ep 41| John 15:12-27| Friends of the King, Enemies of the World
In John 15:12–27, Jesus teaches His disciples what it truly means to belong to Him. Those who are united to Christ are called to love one another with the same sacrificial love that He has shown them. Yet Jesus also warns that friendship with Him will place believers in conflict with a world that rejected Him first. In this episode, we explore Christ’s command to love, what it means to be called a friend of Jesus, the significance of His choosing and appointing His disciples, why the world opposes those who belong to Him, and how the Holy Spirit empowers the church to bear witness to Christ. Following Jesus means being loved by the King, sent on His mission, and standing faithfully in a world that does not recognize Him. But we do not stand alone—the Spirit of truth testifies about Christ and strengthens His people to remain faithful. “You are my friends if you do what I command you.” — John 15:14

Crossroads| Ep 19| Christians Must Be Political
Crossroads| Ep 18| What’s The Real Point of Genesis 6?
In a world where UFOs, Aliens, demons and the such are very popular topics there is a renewed interest in the Nephilim and Genesis 6. On this episode I will discuss the three main views held in Christianity, the Fallen Angel view, the Sethite view and the Tyrant-kings view, examine there arguments and then I will tell you which one I side with. Let’s dive in deep and in my opinion in doing so you realize what the purpose of the text is saying and the true meaning of Genesis 6 comes to life.
Exposit | Ep 40|John 15:1-11| You Can Do Nothing Apart From The Vine
In Episode 40 of Exposit, we continue our verse-by-verse study through the Gospel of John by examining John 15:1–11. Jesus declares, “I am the true Vine,” revealing that apart from Him we have no spiritual life, no lasting fruit, and no power to accomplish anything for the glory of God. In this passage we’ll explore what it truly means to abide in Christ, the Father’s work of pruning His people, the relationship between God’s Word and effective prayer, and how abiding leads to obedience, joy, and a life that glorifies the Father. Together we’ll answer questions like: What does it mean to abide in Christ? Who are the branches that are taken away? What is the fruit Jesus is talking about? Does “ask whatever you wish” mean God grants every request? How does abiding shape our desires and prayers? Why is joy the outcome of a life rooted in Christ? Our goal is to faithfully exposit the text, letting Scripture interpret Scripture while pointing us to the sufficiency of Christ and the glory of God.
