Stagione 7
Spouse Letter Scandal Who is Randy Retter and how many husbands does Becky have? 🤔 A fairly routine tool of campaigning is to have the spouse of a candidate write a heartfelt letter explaining how someone is personally as opposed to how they appear publicly. Days before the May 5th primary, a letter was received by District 20 voters. What at first appeared to be the regular spouse letter turned out to be anything but... The first page starts off well enough, until voters get to the husband's name. Randy... Who the heck is Randy?? Bear in mind that the envelope return address said Becky Pressel. Becky Pressel is married to Jim Pressel (District 20 State Rep), not Randy. Further reading reveals the name Randy Retter and mentions of cancer treatments... Okay, weird. Page 2 throws EVERYTHING off however because then suddenly it talks about Jim and is signed Becky Pressel. Luckily, we were able to get the intended 1st page, and are including it here. Video breakdown on this tonight at 7. So, what happened? Obviously pages got mixed up. District 56 candidate and Wayne County Sheriff Randy Retter is who was mentioned on page 1, but page 2 is Jim Pressel. How could this happen? We have not received any further statement beyond being provided with the intended 1st page of the letter, so draw your own conclusions, dear reader. The intended letter is included, as well as what people actually got in the mail. The DDD team has confirmed with the Retter team that THEIR letter was not affected. Why this happened and why it wasn't caught sooner, we don't know. On Saturday April 25th, 2026 the LaPorte County Republican Party held its Lincoln Day dinner, where a Trump impersonator entertained the crowd. How did that go? We also talk about the divisions in the party, the failed redistricting vote, primary candidates, and the ongoing legal battle involving Commissioner Gramarossa and our host Dion. Let's Dig In! Meet Liz Bergeron Candidate for Center Township Advisory Board Candidate Conversations A member of the #DDD team is running for Center Township Advisory Board, and she has graciously agreed to subject herself to what all transparent candidates do- an interview with our host, Dion. Join us Monday, April 20th for a very special guest. Sheriff Richard Mack, founder of CSPOA ( https://www/cspoa.org ) will be joining us, teaching how we can protect the Constitutional Republic our founding fathers envisioned and created, and resist the mockery of a democracy we are dangerously close to. Sheriff Mack is a prolific author, and has written a number of books, including his most popular, The County Sheriff: America’s Last Hope, His writings mostly focus on gun rights, limited government, and the authority of local law enforcement. It argues that the county sheriff is the most powerful law enforcement officer in the country. Sheriff Richard Mack Bio Personal History: Richard Mack served in law enforcement for 20 years, with duties including Patrol Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Undercover Agent, School Resource Officer and Detective (specializing in preventing crimes against children). In 1988 he was elected to the office of Sheriff in Graham County, Arizona, where he grew up. He served as Sheriff for eight years. In 1991, while serving as sheriff, he graduated from the FBI Academy. He has been married to his wife, Dawn for 50 years. They have 5 children and 15 grandchildren. His Claim to Fame: During his tenure as Sheriff, he became the first sheriff in American history to sue the federal government, a case that was ultimately combined with motions from other sheriffs into Mack/Printz vs US and was decided by the US Supreme Court. The 1994 case against the Clinton administration was regarding provisions of the ‘Brady Bill’; a gun control measure that required sheriffs to perform background checks on potential gun buyers. The court ruled that the federal government could not compel state or local officers to enforce federal regulatory programs, and has been hailed as the most powerful Tenth Amendment decision in USA history. Significant awards / achievements: • Named NRA Law Officer of the Year • Inducted into NRA Hall of Fame • Cicero Award recipient • Samuel Adams Leadership Award recipient • Gun Owners of America’s, Defender of 2nd Amendment award recipient • Elected Official of the Year award recipient (by the Arizona/New Mexico Coalition of Counties) Follow Dion’s Daily Dose on Social at: Facebook X ( Twitter) YouTube Rumble Twitch LinkedIn Check out the website at: DionBergeron.com or DionsDailyDose.com. It's Primary Season! Since we at #DDD believe an educated voter is an empowered voter, we try to introduce as much information as we can. One of the ways we do this is by sitting down with potential candidates for office and getting to know them. We ask all of our guests to provide us with a bio and here's what we were sent: "Chuck Watterson is a trial attorney and candidate for LaPorte County Prosecutor, running to bring real courtroom experience back to the prosecutor’s office. Chuck's family is from LaPorte and Chuck is LaPorte through and through. He has a 5 year old daughter, so he has a vested interest in keeping his community safe. Watterson has built his career where it matters most—inside the courtroom—trying cases, standing up for victims, and holding criminals accountable. He believes the job of prosecutor isn’t about politics or talking points—it’s about results, and results come from experience. At a time when public safety is critical, Watterson is making a clear case: the prosecutor should be someone who has actually done the job. He’s focused on protecting families, enforcing the law, and ensuring justice is delivered fairly and effectively. His campaign is centered on a simple idea—this is not a position for on-the-job training. It requires proven trial experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to putting the community first." Tune in Monday, April 13th at 7PM Central to meet Mr. Watterson and see if he is worthy of your vote in the Republican Primary. Primary Season is upon us. While there are some races that are unopposed, there are others that are the focus of some hot button issues. Toll roads, NIPSCO rate hikes, data centers, and gas taxes are the focus of many residents in District 20. The incumbent is a major player in Indianapolis, having served several 10 years at this point, and is the Chair of the Roads and Highways Committee. He has authored a host of legislation and is up for reelection this year. Many residents blame the incumbent for issues affecting all of us on a daily basis. Are they his cross to bear? You decide as we hear from his opponent in the Republican Primary Election. District 20 encompasses parts of LaPorte and Starke County, not exactly wealthy areas, and many residents are hit particularly hard by what they see as unchecked greed from corporations like NIPSCO and government via taxes. Tune in Friday night at 7 PM to meet Juanita Haney, wife of Joe Haney, a well-known and well loved (according to election numbers and word of mouth) Commissioner of LaPorte County, who has decided to step into the weird world of state representative races. While her husband is generally regarded as a champion of liberty, small government, and personal freedoms, what does Juanita believe? Tune in and find out! We ask all of our candidates to send us a bio, and here's what we received: "Juanita Haney is a devoted wife of 24 years, a homeschooling mother of three adult daughters, and a lifelong Christian. With a professional background in the operating room on both adult and pediatric transplant teams, Juanita has seen firsthand the sacred value of human life. Currently running for Indiana State Representative in District 20, her campaign is built on the pillar of Restoration. Juanita is a proud pro-life advocate and a strong 2A supporter dedicated to restoring common-sense values, providing toll relief for working Hoosiers, and fighting for fair NIPSCO rates. From protecting communities against overreaching developments to strengthening the family unit, Juanita believes in carrying the true voice of her constituents to Indianapolis." It's Primary season! We here at #DDD believe in becoming an educated voter. As such, one of the things we pride ourselves on is offering candidates a singular place to stop, have a conversation, and give the voters a chance to meet them authentically. Not a campaign ad or a quick social media post, but a "Coffee With A Candidate" type of vibe. Guy DiMartino is running in the Republican Primary of 2026 for Judge for Superior Court 3. Join us April 1st 2026 at 7PM Central time to meet Guy. If you have questions for him, you can join us live or send them to talk@dionbergeron.com in advance. Emailing in advance strongly recommended. We ask all of our guests to send us a short bio. In this case we were directed to his website, where the team parsed the following information. While I wouldn't call this short, it's certainly a bio. Just teasing (a little). Bio included below (partial quotes from https://dimartino-judge.com/my-biography/ ): "Guy S. DiMartino has dedicated more than 25 years to the practice of law, representing individuals, families, businesses, and local governments in state and federal courts across the country. His legal career reflects deep courtroom experience, real-world judgment, and a steady commitment to ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and has meaningful access to justice. Guy has represented clients in trial courts across the country and has handled appeals before the Indiana Court of Appeals, Florida’s Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eleventh Circuits. He has tried numerous cases in multiple states and brings a level of real-world trial experience that is rare among judicial candidates. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar, a credential awarded to attorneys with significant jury trial experience and demonstrated expertise in complex civil matters. Disclaimer: Certification is granted by The Florida Bar. Indiana does not offer legal specialty certification. Guy’s commitment to public service includes significant municipal law experience. He served as attorney for the LaPorte County Council for eight years, advising on governance, compliance, budgeting, and litigation matters. He currently represents the LaPorte County Board of Commissioners, providing guidance on contracts, risk management, and day-to-day governmental operations, and the LaPorte County Regional Development Commission, where he advises the body on legal and operational matters. This experience gives him a unique understanding of the challenges facing local government and the role courts play in the lives of LaPorte County residents. Guy’s judicial philosophy is grounded in three core principles: fidelity and commitment to the rule of law; neutrality, ensuring every person is treated with dignity, empathy, and respect; and discernment, applying the facts of each case to the law without regard to personal feelings. Decades of trial work have given Guy firsthand insight into how courts impact individuals, families, and businesses. His balanced, real-world background positions him to administer justice with fairness, clarity, and professionalism. For more than 30 years, Guy has served as an Anglican Catholic priest, a vocation that shapes his approach to listening, compassion, service, and integrity. He views judicial service as another way to walk alongside people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Guy is married to Joan. Together, they enjoy time with Toni (daughter) and their three grandchildren. Guy looks forward to serving the community with honesty, humility, and a deep respect for the rule of law.
