Maybe some of you can identify with the phrase," I bind you, Satan, in the name of Jesus." I've heard it used as if it was a magical formula. It was under the guise of it being a "spiritual weapon." I was taught I had that authority because I have Jesus. I have learned by studying Scripture and applying it to my life that the success of overcoming Satan and demons is more than just words. I have learned that error mixed with truth entangles the believer, and I pray for all who are ensnared to receive the truth and continue in God's Word, which is the power to make us free (John 8:31-32). Perhaps you've read or heard something you weren't sure the Bible actually says. After closer study, you realize God didn't say that at all. I know we often read the Bible as if it's a personal letter written just to us. It wasn't. I love that all Scripture is written for us, even if it's not all written to us. We will tackle portions of Scripture frequently misquoted and taken out of context. We will look at many untruths created based on denominational doctrines and beliefs that may not align with God's Word, and we will discuss how personal agendas can cloud what we believe Scripture says and means.
