Note sull'episodio
From million-dollar hypercars and elegant Art Deco classics to lowriders and one of the most unusual Cadillac creations you’ll ever hear about, this episode of San Diego Automotive Museum Radio shows why the museum is about much more than cars sitting behind ropes. Dave Stall sits down with Monica, the museum’s Membership Director, for a look at upcoming events, rare vehicles, membership opportunities, and programs helping introduce the next generation to the automotive world.
Coming up is the museum’s Art Deco Gala on September 26, transforming the museum into a celebration of spectacular automobiles from the 1920s and ’30s, including marques such as Duesenberg, Packard, and Cadillac. The museum is also preparing for its first Día de los Muertos celebration on October 10, featuring the Impalas lowrider community, along with a Cars and Coffee event expected to attract hundreds of vehicles. Dave and Monica also discuss the museum’s 2001 Corvette Z06 sweepstakes, annual memberships starting at $60, and the Podium Club, which offers special access to private automotive collections and other VIP experiences.
The conversation also highlights the museum’s Ignite youth program, providing hands-on automotive education and helping young people discover career opportunities in the industry. Then there’s the museum’s extensive automotive library and one vehicle that nearly steals the show: the remarkable Matar Cadillac, a 1940s Cadillac and custom trailer combination featuring an astonishing collection of hand-built amenities and engineering solutions created for long-distance travel between Canada and Mexico. It’s the kind of automotive history you simply don’t encounter at an ordinary car show.
