Central Iowa is beginning to dry out after Tuesday’s heavy rainfall caused flooding across the area. Some parts of Central Iowa received roughly 6 to 8 inches of rain in 24 hours. Restoration companies have been working around the clock to help homeowners whose basements filled with water. For some residents, the flooding was obvious Tuesday night. Others woke up Wednesday to discover inches of water in their basements.
