HM Coastguard airlifted a passenger from Carnival Legend on the morning of August 29, after a medical evacuation request came in at 9:40 a.m. with the ship about eight nautical miles south of Lizard Point, Cornwall; the passenger was flown ashore and handed to the ambulance service at Newquay, and neither age nor condition was disclosed. Carnival Legend had sailed from Dover on August 20 on a British Isles itinerary taking in the Isle of Man, Cork, Holyhead, Dublin, Liverpool, Greenock and Belfast, and was due back into Dover on August 30.
