Josh shares how a cross-country bike trip set him on a path to attend Fort Lewis College and how OP became the center of his college experience. He learned new outdoor skills, built a strong sense of community, developed his leadership, and even launched his own guiding business—experiences that ultimately led him back to OP to help students grow in the same transformative ways.

From guiding someone down their first slope to preparing them for a once-in-a-lifetime backcountry expedition, OP expands access to the outdoors and supports students as they grow. The program provides upgraded gear, student-led training, and financial assistance that removes barriers to participation.
