Captain Vikram Batra, an iconic figure in the 1999 Kargil War, epitomized courage, leadership, and selflessness. Born in 1974 in Palampore, Himachal Pradesh, he defied expectations, leaving a potential career in the merchant navy to join the Indian Army. Known for his bravery during the war, Batra led his unit in retaking critical peaks, particularly Point 5140, and inspired them with his famous war cry, "Dil maange more." Tragically, he was martyred while rescuing a comrade. Awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, his legacy of valor continues to inspire millions, symbolizing the power of human spirit and sacrifice.
