Episode 11: The Return
After a few days apart, tempers have cooled and Silas invites Elena to a breakfast. Insistent they all eat together, Elena goes to gather Kwesi from the waterfall. When she finds him, he is undressed which sparks curiosity and a heartfelt confession. But the moment is interrupted by Bahia. Elena runs back to camp to see Jeremiah has returned with a ship. To his heart ache, he learns his darling Lucia has passed. And in the wake of the realization, they must decide what lies ahead for each of them. Episode 11 is the last full episode before listeners can "choose their own" pre-determined, mini-endings! Episode 10: The Fight
Kwesi and Elena share an important talk about destiny, honoring their elders, and taking full advantage of second chances. Then, the ladies venture into the jungle to gather fruit while Kwesi and Silas start a small fishing competition. But the competition between them grows, exploding into a fight over Elena’s attention and affection. Displeased with their display, Elena puts them both in their place, leaving them to brew over their words and actions. Episode 9: The Dance
Kwesi offers a bit of advice to Elena, sharing in his village’s traditions of celebrating life, instead of mourning death. After breaking down in tears and opening his hardened heart to Elena, Silas agrees to join in a fireside ritual to dance Lucia into the afterlife. Once she is buried, they raise many-a-glass of whiskey in her honor, toasting all the wonderful memories they made and shared together. Then, lying and laughing in the sand in a drunken haze, they reflect on life and Lucia. Episode 8: The Beans
Elena, Kwesi, and Bahia connect down at the shoreline while Silas tends to Lucia’s injury. With his knowledge in medicine, Kwesi offers to help Lucia, only to discover her scratch is actually a snake bite. He urges Silas and Elena to harvest a special bean to help aide her recovery, and they rush into the jungle to help. While searching, Silas finally opens up, sharing his life’s story. And in a moment of tenderness, they kiss... before rushing back to Lucia’s side. Episode 7: The Arrival
Lucia gives a necessary push to Silas, encouraging him to connect with Elena, suggesting they had more in common than he is willing to see. Once Lucia leaves to collect firewood, Silas throws a few more “princess” remarks Elena’s way and she finally breaks. She stands her ground and shares with Silas her real, humbled identity. Just as the realization is had, an injured Lucia limps out of the jungle, pointing to a man and child floating in the water. They pull them both to safety, welcoming Kwesi and Bahia onto the island and into their lives. Episode 6: The Island
After an assessment of the ship’s wreckage, Jeremiah makes the difficult decision to leave Silas, Elena, and Lucia on the island while he and the tar jacks row for help. With a promise to return with biscuits and butter, he says goodbye. It doesn't take long for Elena to take charge, demanding that Silas help her into a tree in order to create a shelter from the torn sails. Later, after another heart to heart with Lucia and the gathering of some salvaged items, the three learn they may be better suited for island life than they expect. Episode 5: The Storm
Elena, having been receiving lessons and instruction from the Captain, begins to find her footing aboard the Atlas, much to Silas’ dismay. Just as he begins to dig into her once again, a large bell sounds as heavy gales and rising seas began to swell. Lucia takes Elena to her quarters in an attempt to keep her calm, but soon the situation turns dire. Silas reluctantly brings Elena to deck where she learns the ship had run aground, and once again her world would be turned upside down as she and Lucia board a rowboat with Silas, among the storm that engulfs them. Episode 4: The Reef
After a long few nights of seasickness, Elena finally emerges from her quarters for some fresh air and reminiscence. Lucia, Jeremiah, and Silas share a story about too many drinks in a pub and the undressing and unlacing that took place to get them out of trouble. With Elena finally seeing a more revealing-look at the new souls that surrounded her, she gets another beautiful and unexpected view– a look at the bright colors of the coral reef below them, which sparks an important conversation about the meaning of home. Episode 3: The Atlas
Silenced by her grief and tears, Elena ponders her new awaiting life aboard the Atlas, where she meets her new shipmates. Jeremiah, the ship’s captain, introduces himself to little response, pushing Lucia to make friends with Elena. During a biscuit and whiskey filled exchange, Lucia shares her own journey of arranged marriage and offers a new perspective which is interrupted by Silas, the ship’s sarcastic and sometimes narrow minded first mate. Episode 2: The Pier
During their carriage ride to the pier, Nils and Elena share warm memories of her childhood, which are soon interrupted by Nils’ heavy grief. Insistent that Elena learn from his own mistakes, he speaks of her mother as strong willed, golden curled, and too kind and understanding for her own good. As they roll into the pier, they are greeted by the eccentrically dressed Lucia, who urges them to say their final goodbyes, escorting Elena to their sailing vessel, The Atlas, and her new life.
