Julius Thompson, also known as the Sauce Boss, is the owner of Sauce Boss Southern Kitchen in Draper, Utah. He also is author of 12 books! He serves soul food that represents his family, culture, and the history of soul food. Julius grew up in a challenging environment in Chicago, but his grandmother always had food in the fridge, and he wanted his restaurant to be like his grandmother's house, where people can come in, get good hearty food, and feel at home. He faced challenges when opening his restaurant, including the impact of the pandemic, but he adapted by offering family meal platters.
