Monet didn't pick up a guitar until she was 40, when she found a little Martin parlor guitar in her husband's office, cradled it like a baby, and thought: "My hands aren't too small anymore." (There's a whole story behind that line, going back to a dad who taught her older brothers to play but kept telling little Monet to wait. She waited about thirty years.)

Once Robinella taught her a few chords, the faucet turned on and didn't shut off.
