Birmingham police are investigating a fatal shooting of a 17-year-old girl in a city home and another shooting at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, raising public safety concerns. The city also launched a workforce initiative and honored baseball legend Eugene Scruggs at the Negro Southern League Museum ahead of a special primary election announced by Governor Kay Ivey.
