BC 2026 Football Preview Show

Boston College kicks off its 2026 season Saturday at Cincinnati, and the Eagles look almost nothing like the team that finished 2-10 a year ago. This week we break down the two biggest storylines on campus: a Division II transfer taking over at quarterback, and a defense that finished 123rd nationally looking for answers through the transfer portal. We start on offense, where D-II transfer Mason McKenzie takes the reins after winning back-to-back GLIAC awards at Saginaw Valley State, running back Evan Dickens arrives from Liberty off a 1,339-yard season, and head coach Bill O'Brien — now calling his own plays — rebuilds his receiver room and offensive line from scratch. Then we flip to defense, where preseason All-ACC safety KP Price and Massachusetts native Max Tucker anchor a veteran secondary, and newcomers Kris Jones (Georgia) and Bodie Kahoun (Notre Dame) look to fix a pass rush that couldn't get home last season. We close with a full walk through BC's 12-game 2026 schedule — the October bye week, the marquee home dates, and where the Eagles' realistic wins are hiding. Redshirt sophomore forward Jayden Hastings becomes the first basketball player to join the show as he sits down with Alden Hunold, Nick Petralia, Timmy Anderson, Giovanni Culotta and Sean Martin to discuss how the team can rebound from a difficult season.

The Return to Conte: Featuring BC Men's Hockey Forward Brady Berard

Hockey is back on the Heights! Alden Hunold, Jackson Shafiroff, Giovanni Culotta and Luke Koenig sit down with senior captain Brady Berard as the No. 6 Eagles kick off the season at Conte against No. 13 Quinnipiac. Brady discusses his transfer from Providence last year, what he's expecting from his second season at BC, shares a wild story from the Seminole Golf Club and vouches for the salad bar at Mac.

Season 4, Episode 1: Back to the Gridiron with BC Football RB Alex Broome

The Buzz is back for year four! Host Alden Hunold joins Nick Petralia, Timmy Anderson, Jimmy Mahon, Noah Ross and Giovanni Culotta in welcoming BC Football running back Alex Broome to the program for a fourth straight year. Broome, who missed the 2024 season with an injury, discussed his recovery ahead of 2025, what camp is like under Bill O'Brien and how the Eagles can win eight games for the first time since 2009.

Season 3, Episode 5: The Ticket featuring UGBC Presidential Candidates

For the first time ever, we aren't covering sports this week on the Beacon Street Buzz: but the change of pace sure comes at an opportune moment, as the Undergraduate Government of Boston College will elect its new President and Vice President this week. Giovanni, Paul, Pepper, Alden and Jimmy sat down with two of the candidate groups in this year's race: Andrew Cimino and Brody Whetzel; Jack Adams and Chase Gibson. Tune in for a wide-ranging conversation about the candidates' policies, their experiences at BC that motivated their campaign, and their favorite things about the Heights. And don't worry, we'll be back on the BC sports beat next week. NOTE: An invite was extended to the third group of candidates, Cami Kulbieda and Reagan Marino, which was respectfully declined.

Season 3, Episode 4: Hungry for History with Brooke McLoy

No. 1 BC lacrosse is off to a flying start in 2025 after reaching the top of the lacrosse mountain in 2024. Giovanni Culotta, Jackson Shafiroff and Alden Hunold welcomed junior attacker Brooke McLoy to reflect on last season's national and conference victory, this year's commanding beginning and her favorite things at BC.

Season 3, Episode 3: Now or Never with BC Women's Ice Hockey forward Katie Pyne

BC WIH senior forward Katie Pyne joins Giovanni Culotta and Alden Hunold for the third episode of season three to preview her team's pivotal Hockey East Quarterfinal tilt against Maine. Pyne is also the host of the Around the Heights podcast with Giovanni, and she shares the highlights of her experience in the media world.
