Sermon - The Farewells of Jesus and 7 Marks of a Healthy Church
Air Date: 2025-12-28 Pastor Dan Scally Sermon Only The Farewells of Jesus and 7 Marks of a Healthy Church https://www.alchibbing.org/ This is Dan Scally's last sermon as the head pastor of ALC. We all want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dan and his family for the love and guidance he has given over the years. You will be missed and always welcome. Verses Referenced: John 15:1 - 17 1 “I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. 2He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3You have already been pruned and purified by the message I have given you. 4Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. 9 “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. 10When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. 11I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! 12This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. 13There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command. 15I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. 16You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name. 17This is my command: Love each other.
Sermon - Advent - Love
Air Date: 2025-12-21 Pastor Dan Scally Sermon Only Advent - Love https://www.alchibbing.org/ Verses Referenced: Galatians 4:4 - 5 4But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. 5God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. Luke 19:1 - 10 1Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. 2There was a man there named Zacchaeus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. 3He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. 4So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. 5When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” 6Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. 7But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled. 8Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” 9Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, for this man has shown himself to be a true son of Abraham. 10For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”
Worship - Advent - Finding Joy Again
Air Date: 2025-12-14 Pastor Dan Scally Full Worship Service Advent - Finding Joy Again https://www.alchibbing.org/ Verses Referenced: Luke 18:18-30 A religious leader asked Jesus, “Good Teacher, what must I do to get eternal life?” 19. Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? Only God is good. 20. And you know his commands: ‘You must not commit adultery, you must not murder anyone, you must not steal, you must not tell lies about others, you must respect your father and mother ….’” 21. But the leader said, “I have obeyed all these commands since I was a boy.” 22. When Jesus heard this, he said to the leader, “But there is still one thing you need to do. Sell everything you have and give the money to those who are poor. You will have riches in heaven. Then come and follow me.” 23. But when the man heard Jesus tell him to give away his money, he was sad. He didn’t want to do this, because he was very rich. 24. When Jesus saw that the man was sad, he said, “It will be very hard for rich people to enter God’s kingdom. 25. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter God’s kingdom.” 26. When the people heard this, they said, “Then who can be saved?” 27. Jesus answered, “God can do things that are not possible for people to do.” 28. Peter said, “Look, we left everything we had and followed you.” 29. Jesus said, “I can promise that everyone who has left their home, wife, brothers, parents, or children for God’s kingdom 30. will get much more than they left. They will get many times more in this life. And in the world that is coming they will get the reward of eternal life.” Psalms 63:3 our faithful love is better than life, so my lips praise you. Psalms 16:11 [11] You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever. Revelation of John 5:2-5 And I saw a powerful angel, who called in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3. But there was no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth who could open the scroll or look inside it. 4. I cried and cried because there was no one who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. 5. But one of the elders said to me, “Don’t cry! The Lion from the tribe of Judah has won the victory. He is David’s descendant. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

Sermon - Advent - Behold The King
Air Date: 2025-12-07 Pastor Dan Scally Sermon Only Advent - Behold The King https://www.alchibbing.org/ Verses Referenced: Luke 17:11-37 11As Jesus continued on toward Jerusalem, he reached the border between Galilee and Samaria. 12As he entered a village there, ten men with leprosy stood at a distance, 13crying out, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14He looked at them and said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed of their leprosy. 15One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” 16He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done. This man was a Samaritan. 17Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? 18Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.” The Coming of the Kingdom 20One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom of God come?” Jesus replied, “The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. 21You won’t be able to say, ‘Here it is!’ or ‘It’s over there!’ For the Kingdom of God is already among you.” 22Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see the day when the Son of Man returns, but you won’t see it. 23People will tell you, ‘Look, there is the Son of Man,’ or ‘Here he is,’ but don’t go out and follow them. 24For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes. 25But first the Son of Man must suffer terribly and be rejected by this generation. 26 “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. 27In those days, the people enjoyed banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 “And the world will be as it was in the days of Lot. People went about their daily business—eating and drinking, buying and selling, farming and building— 29until the morning Lot left Sodom. Then fire and burning sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. 30Yes, it will be ‘business as usual’ right up to the day when the Son of Man is revealed. 31On that day a person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return home. 32Remember what happened to Lot’s wife! 33If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. 34That night two people will be asleep in one bed; one will be taken, the other left. 35Two women will be grinding flour together at the mill; one will be taken, the other left.” 37“Where will this happen, Lord?” the disciples asked. Jesus replied, “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”
