Pretending Things Were Fine
After The Quiet di After the Quiet
Note sull'episodio
In Episode 19 of After the Quiet, I share the chapter where my body spoke before I could. During my seventh month of pregnancy, after returning home following a frightening escalation, I experienced my first panic attack at work. With the pressure of home life, end-of-year school demands, pregnancy, and unspoken fear, a simple parent letter became the final push my nervous system could handle. This episode explores panic attacks, pregnancy stress, emotional abuse, and how the body responds when someone has been living in survival mode for too long. I reflect on returning home, living smaller to keep the peace, and the warning signs I didn’t yet have language for — signs that things would not get better after baby number two was born.
