In this episode of After Hours Arc, I get into the first two episodes of Witch Hat Atelier — and this one pulled me in immediately.

We follow Coco, a girl obsessed with magic in a world where she’s told she’ll never be able to use it. But once she discovers how magic actually works, everything changes — and it leads to a moment that completely flips her life upside down.

From there, we move into the Atelier, where her journey really begins. We meet new characters, start learning the magic system, and get a better sense of how dangerous this world actually is.

What stood out to me right away is how magic works in this series. Everything is drawn, not spoken, and that makes every moment feel more precise and more risky.
