Good morning. Wyoming. I'm Michael Nally. Folks, the wind is absolutely screaming across Wyoming today. And I mean screaming. High Wind Warnings are up for the Absaroka Mountains and Cody Foothills, where gusts could slam Chief Joseph Pass at 75 miles an hour. That's enough to knock a semi sideways. Down in Cody. Powell. And Clark, you're already getting hammered with 30 to 40 mile an hour gusts this morning. And it's only going to get worse through midday. Southeast Wyoming isn't catching a break either. Arlington and Bordeaux are seeing 60 mile an hour gusts right now. The I-80 corridor gets west winds of 25 to 30 miles an hour, gusting to 50. Cheyenne might hit 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts, though the worst should stay in the foothills. What's driving this? A steep pressure gradient — 16 millibars from west to east — combined with strong downs ...
