Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Raleigh last week for a “Down with DOGE” rally, voicing their frustration with recent actions from the Trump administration and the Department of Government Efficiency. The department has overseen mass layoffs of federal workers and significant funding cuts to various programs, sparking concerns among both government employees and the public.

Among the speakers at the rally was Scott Peoples, a former captain in the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, who has been outspoken about his objections to DOGE and its impact on federal operations.
