Catching You Before You Fall

SERIES: “HEY JUDE” Jude was written by the half-brother of Jesus sometime around 65 AD. It was mainly written to combat false teaching regarding the issue of immorality. Apparently it was thought be some at the time that the body was less important than the spirit and so it was okay to sin in the body. This brief series will look at the inspired writings of Jude, essentially one chapter, and relate it to the challenges we face in the 21st century

The purpose of the message will be to dissect the such phases as “called,” “justified,” “interceding” and the overall love of God, and show how this all contributes to having a God-given purpose in life.

Hope in a World of Turmoil

BACK TO THE FUTURE” Haggai was a prophet whom God spoke to over a four-month period in 520 BC. Israel had been brought back from exile but the work on a new temple in Jerusalem had been halted due to opposition. The messages God gives to Haggai is an encouragement to get on with it. And within the prophecy is a prediction that God’s glory would return to this newly-constructed temple, in the same way that the glory cloud of God came to the old one. This was ultimately fulfilled in Jesus coming to this temple in the first century AD. The predictions God gave to Haggai will be used in this series as a stepping off point to show how God wants us, despite going through things that can discourage us, to go back to our future hope: the hope of heaven, the ongoing presence of the Holy Spirit, and the chance to know that your future is guaranteed by Jesus.
