Birds Fly High

Birds Fly High is a raw and emotional reflection on pain, freedom, and the journey of learning to rise above the things that once held you down. Like a bird escaping the limits of the ground, this poem speaks to the human desire to break free from hurt, regret, heartbreak, struggle, and the weight of the past. It explores the idea that sometimes our deepest pain can become the very thing that gives us the strength to grow, change, and find our wings. Birds Fly High is about looking toward the light even when you've spent a long time surrounded by darkness. It is a reminder that your past may shape you, but it doesn't have to define where you go next. Some wings are born from pain. Some journeys begin in darkness. And sometimes, the only way forward is to finally learn how to fly.

Tears That Cry

“Tears That Cry” is a raw and deeply personal piece i written from behind the walls of incarceration, where silence can become louder than words. This poem explores the emotions that often remain hidden the pain, loneliness, regret, memories, love, and thoughts that surface when there’s nowhere to run from yourself. Written during a time of confinement, “Tears That Cry” gives a voice to the tears that never made it down my face. The emotions cried silently within. It’s about facing myself, remembering the people and moments that matter, and searching for hope while surrounded by darkness. This is more than a poem i wrote in jail. It’s about being trapped emotionally, mentally, and spiritually and finding a way to let those feelings breathe through spoken word. “Sometimes the tears we cry aren't the ones that fall.”

Athousand Cries

A Thousand Cries is a powerful spoken-word tribute to the strength, resilience, and emotional depth of Black women. It explores the tears that often go unseen, the pain, heartbreak, sacrifices, struggles, and battles carried behind a woman’s smile. But these tears are not a symbol of weakness. Every cry carries a story. Every tear represents something survived. Every moment of pain becomes another layer of strength. A Thousand Cries speaks to the woman who has had to be strong when she was hurting, who kept moving when she wanted to break, and who turned her pain into purpose. It recognizes the power that lives within vulnerability and reminds us that sometimes a woman's cry isn't the sound of defeat, it's the sound of everything she has survived. This poem is for the mothers, daughters, sisters, lovers, leaders, and survivors whose strength cannot always be seen but can always be felt. A thousand tears. A thousand stories. A thousand reasons to keep standing.
