Everyone dreams of winning big, but what if the lottery isn’t what it seems? In this episode of Scratchers and Scandals, Jason and Darrell dig into the surprising truth behind the Texas Lottery — from billion-dollar sales and broken promises about education funding to vending machines, online ticket loopholes, money-laundering schemes, and the 2025 shutdown of the Texas Lottery Commission itself.

You’ll hear the history of how the lottery started, where the money actually goes, how the system quietly disadvantages everyday players, and why certain people — including international gamblers and opportunistic courier services — found ways to exploit it.
