In this episode, I sit down with my friend, Shyheim Franklin aka “the Rugged Child.” Shyheim is a rapper and actor from Staten Island, New York. He initially gained fame as a teenager, releasing his debut album AKA the Rugged Child at the age of 16 in 1994. He has spent the majority of his career affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan, frequently collaborating with Method Man and Ghostface Killah. Lyrically he impressed rappers with a skill level that would make any hip-hop fan forget about his age altogether. Shyheim released The Lost Generation in 1996, while the acclaimed Manchild followed in 1999. Beyond his music career, he has also appeared in several films including Original Gangstas, In Too Deep, and The Preacher's Wife.
