Purpose in Suffering
Can we really follow Christ without suffering? We often want the Christian life to lead us away from hardship. But Scripture presents a different picture: following Jesus and suffering are not strangers to one another. In Episode 2 of Walking With the Pleasants, Darian and Sandy talk about the place suffering has in the Christian walk and how God can use difficult seasons as part of the process of shaping us to become more like Christ. Suffering is painful, and we don't have to pretend otherwise. But as followers of Jesus, our suffering doesn't have to be meaningless. God can use what we walk through to develop us, mature our faith, deepen our dependence on Him, and form Christ in us. Sometimes we're asking God to remove the very thing He is using to produce something in us. 🎙️ Walking With the Pleasant's Episode 2 — Purpose in Suffering Come walk with us.
Those That Wait
In our first episode of Walking With the Pleasants, we talk about what it really means to wait on God. Waiting can be frustrating, confusing, and even discouraging—but Scripture shows us that waiting is not wasted time. We look at biblical examples of people who had to wait between the promise and its fulfillment and talk about how God can use those seasons to strengthen our faith, develop our character, prepare us for what’s ahead, and draw us closer to Him. We also share from our own experiences and discuss what it looks like to actively trust God while you wait—continuing to pray, obey, grow, and walk by faith even when you don't know what God is doing. If you’re in a season of waiting right now, we hope this conversation reminds you: your “not yet” doesn’t mean “never,” and your waiting is not wasted. Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 Encourage. Uplift. Speak Life. Walk in Truth. Support The Pleasant's Enjoying Walking With the Pleasants?
