The Mountain and the Valley

Mark 8:31–9:50.

For the first time, Jesus tells his disciples plainly what's coming — and Peter can't accept it. Six days later, three of them follow him up a mountain and watch him transformed before their eyes, standing beside Moses and Elijah. But coming back down, they find a father whose son they couldn't heal, and a hard lesson still waiting about who among them is greatest.
