Mark 12:1–44; Mark 13:1–37
Back in the temple courts, the religious leaders come at Jesus in waves, each hoping to trap him in his own words — a parable about tenants who kill the landowner's son, a loaded question about paying taxes to Caesar, a trick scenario about resurrection and marriage, and finally, sincerely this time, a question about which commandment matters most. He answers every one, then watches a poor widow drop two small coins into the treasury and calls it the largest gift given that day. Leaving the temple, his disciples marvel at its massive stones — and Jesus tells them not one of those stones will be left standing on another, launching into a long, sobering picture of wars, persecution, and a day known only to the Father.
We are in a Mark-John Harmony. Today's episode covers: Mark 12:1–44, Mark 13:1–37 (the parable of the tenants, questions about taxes, resurrection, and the greatest commandment, the widow's mite, and the Olivet Discourse).
