A Minecraft Movie (2025): This Is It, The Beginning of Modern Slop

Based on the blockbuster game, A Minecraft Movie was surprisingly a blockbuster hit at the cinemas, relying on the current mantra that all videogame movie should cast Jack Black and embracing the popular memes of the game to create a wave of box office success. Neither Jamie or Rory are Minecraft fans going into this viewing, so is the movie welcoming to new viewers or do you have to already be a fan of the game to appreciate its charms? Tokimeki Memorial (1997): Why Not Reward The Creepy Stalker?

This Japanese movie from 1997 is based on the Konami dating sim franchise of the same name. A rare movie in the VGMP pantheon; our first and only episode based on a dating sim. The movie sees a group of teens taking a job at a seaside café during their last summer before university and bonding over the experience. Double Dragon (1994): Terminator's T-1000 Is Not Magnetic

This week Rory and Jamie are reviewing this infamously bad movie from the early 90s based on the classic beat 'em up franchise. Set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles, the movie follows two brothers in a race against time to find the two halves of the Double Dragon amulet before an evil businessman beats them to it. This week the boys take a look at a little known Japanese movie; Last Bronx: Tokyo Bangaichi, this low budget movie is set in a dystopian future where a fascistic corporation hosts a fighting tournament. Featuring a blend of dark visuals with some goofy and over the top characters, Last Bronx wears its low budget on its sleeve, which might actually work in its favour. Dead Rising: Watchtower (2015): Produced For Crackle, Which Died Before It Started

After previously reviewing the Japanese take on a "Dead Rising" movie, this time the boys take a look at the first American effort. Produced for Crackle and starring Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives), Rob Riggle (Modern Family, The Office, a gazillion other comedies), Virginia Madsen (Candyman, Sideways) and Dennis Haysbert (24, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), the movie focuses on a young reporter caught in a quarantine zone after a deadly resurgence of the zombie virus. Teaming up with other survivors, he has to find a way out of the infected area before the US military decide to wipe away the problem with a tactical nuke. DOOM: Annihilation (2019): Anal-Lotion Again? Or Can Doom Pull It Off?

Did you know they made a second DOOM movie? Jamie sure didn't until Rory sprung that one on him! You could be forgiven for not knowing about this ultra low-budget adaptation that seemingly got screwed by the studio. Yet it is also true that sometimes it is those films that face the most adversity come out with that extra special X factor that turns them into very enjoyable movies. Will that be the case for this intrepid little DOOM movie? Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com
