Step outside this morning and you'll feel that classic March chill. We're starting at 19 degrees under clear skies. But here's the story today. A warm front is lifting north from the mid-Atlantic. It's riding up and over the dense cold air currently parked over Vermont. This overrunning pattern sets the stage for snow by this afternoon.
In the next 24 hours. Southern Vermont sees the first flakes around noon. You'll get heavy snow accumulating 2 to 4 inches. Temperatures hover near 32 degrees. The snow mixes with sleet and freezing rain this evening before ending around midnight. Watch for a glaze of ice on roads.
