[§327] Rev 20:4-6: John’s Vision of the First Resurrection

This podcast explains the conditions of the earth and people during the 1000-year millennium. The events of the Second Coming will transfigure the earth from a fallen telestial world to a terrestrial earth with paradisiacal conditions similar to the Garden of Eden. Enmity will cease to exist and there will be no warfare. Animals will live in harmony with each other and with mankind. There will be abundant water and the earth will produce food abundantly. Satan will be bound, so there will be no wickedness. Children born during the millennium will grow up without sin unto salvation (exaltation). There will be no sickness and premature death during the millennium. People will still be mortal, which means that—unlike resurrected people—their spirit is not inseparably connected with their body. “Millennial mortals” will have translated bodies that will live without physical deformity or mental handicap to the age of 100 years. At the end of their lifespan, celestial-worthy people will be translated in the twinkling of an eye to a resurrected and immortal condition. People who live only terrestrial law during the millennium will die, and their disembodied spirits will enter the postmortal spirit world to await the resurrection at the end of the millennium. Temple work is one of the major activities that will occur during the millennium. In that future day, vicarious temple ordinances will be performed for people of all ages who did not have the opportunity to receive these exalting ordinances during their lifetime. The immense amount of temple work will be performed in thousands of temple that will dot the earth. Saviors on Mount Zion from both sides of the veil will cooperate to ensure that the patriarchal chain is complete back to Adam so that all worthy people have both roots and branches (Mal 4:1) in their eternal family.

[§325] Life and Death During the Millennium

This podcast provides an overview and explanation of the doctrine of the millennium, which will follow the Jesus Christ’s Second Coming that ends with the binding of Satan in the bottomless pit in Revelation 20:1-3. This podcast identifies and explains the differing views of the millennium among various religions, including: the Pharisaic Jews anciently, the early Christian Fathers, the Roman Church after the days of Constantine, protestant religions since the reformation, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The word millennium comes from two Latin words that mean 1000 years. However, the millennium after the Second Coming is more than just another thousand year period. It is the earth’s Sabbath‒an era of peace and rest from the wickedness of the world. It is a time when Christ will reign personally upon the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. This means he will rule both politically from his world capital at Zion (New Jerusalem) in Jackson County Missouri, and ecclesiastically from his world capital at Old Jerusalem. Christ’s millennial reign will be a perfect theocracy called the Church of the Firstborn. In this theocracy, exalted and resurrected saints will rule as kings and queens with Christ during the millennium. Christ and resurrected saints will be present on the earth periodically, but the millennial earth will not be their permanent residence. During this spiritual season, the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters of the sea. This means people will know the Lord and his gospel, but it also means that they will possess the knowledge that the Lord possesses about all things, including the creation of this earth. Men and women will be able to pray according to the spirit and all such prayers will be affirmatively answered. People will also be empowered to speak the pure language of Adam according to the spirit.

[§323] Rev 20:1-3: Satan Is Bound in the Bottomless Pit for 1,000 Years

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the second stage of Spiritual Armageddon in Revelation 20:1-3, as the last and final spiritual cleansing of the earth during Jesus Christ’s Second Coming. These verses say: “AND I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” Michael (who is also known as the mortal Adam) is the angel that comes down from heaven with the key of the bottomless pit. Michael has consistently been at the forefront of all battles against the Dragon, known as Lucifer in the premortal existence. The same four names used in these verses to identify Lucifer were previously mentioned in Revelation 12:9. The four (4) names use the world number four to universally describe Satan’s character and attributes. These verses also reflect that four (4) methods will be used to bind Satan in the bottomless pit (abyss, hell). The world number four once again reflects the universal bondage of Satan and all his unembodied spirit sons of perdition in the bottomless pit, until they are loosed at the end of the thousand year millennium for a little season.

[§321] Rev 19:20: Defeat of the Beast and False Prophet

This podcast explains the imagery used by John to describe the spiritual battle of Armageddon where disembodied spirit sons of perdition are defeated in Revelation 19:20, which states: “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” The beast identified in this verse is a symbol for Cain, the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition. Cain was the first person to become perdition in mortality after he killed his brother Abel. The false prophet is a symbol for Judas Iscariot, the spiritual head of all disembodied spirit sons of perdition who are apostates of the true Church of Jesus Christ. Judas became a son of perdition and the prototype apostate when he betrayed the Savior and caused his crucifixion. The miracles referred to in this verse are the same miracles mentioned in Revelation 13:13-14, and John previously identified the mark of the beast in Revelation 13:16. The mark referred to in this verse is received by mortal sons of perdition in their forehead to symbolize their complete devotion to the beast and Satan ultimately. The disembodied spirit sons of perdition who follow the beast and false prophet are called kings of the earth because they were leaders and kings in the earthly kingdom of Satan. All these disembodied spirit sons of perdition will be cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone (hell) because spirit bodies cannot die. When they are cast into the lake of fire, this is a permanent and final judgment for them because they will never be released from this place of eternal torment also known as outer darkness and the second death. This podcast also explains the symbolism that depicts the end of Physical Armageddon in Revelation 19:21, which states: “And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.” The remnant in this verse refers to the remaining telestial-worthy people in all the world who are destroyed by Jesus Christ during his third appearance of the Second Coming. Christ is symbolically represented on a white horse and having a sword in his mouth, which is the word of God. By his word, all remaining telestial-worthy people on earth are destroyed by the final earthquake, pestilences, hail, and worldwide plagues. This is the final end to Physical Armageddon. The fowls of the air and the beasts of the field will literally feast on the bodies of the dead throughout the world after this final stage of physical cleansing of the earth before the millennium.

[§319] Rev 19:19-20: Victory in the Spiritual Battle of Armageddon

This podcast explains the imagery and symbolism used by John to describe the first stage or phase of Spiritual Armageddon, where all disembodied spirit sons of perdition are defeated in their battle with Jesus Christ and his heavenly host in Revelation 19:19-20, as follows: “And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.” (Rev 19:19-20) The beast is the symbolic name for Cain, the mortal son of Adam who killed his brother Abel, and then became perdition. In life he was called Master Mahan and when he died his disembodied spirit became the spiritual head and father to all other mortal sons of perdition who lived prior to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The False Prophet in verse 20 is the symbolic name for Judas Iscariot, who became a son of perdition when he betrayed the Savior. At his death, the disembodied spirit of Judas became the spiritual head and father to all apostates of the true church, including those who apostatize from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and become mortal sons of perdition since the time of the restoration of the gospel in 1830. The disembodied spirit sons of perdition who follow the beast and false prophet are called kings of the earth because they were leaders and kings in the earthly kingdom of Satan. Thay all have the mark of the beast (the “666” in Revelation 13:18) to indicate they were sons of perdition in mortality.

[§318] Rev 19:17-18: Scavengers Eat the Supper of the Great God

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the aftermath of the destruction of wicked people at and around Jerusalem as Physical Armageddon ends in that part of the world. John records in Revelation 19:17-18 that: “I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all [men, both] free and bond, both small and great.” The angel in this verse is Jesus Christ after he has destroyed the gentile armies in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. In the aftermath of this destruction, Christ commands the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field to feast on the flesh of the dead bodies of all telestial-worthy people that have been killed. John identifies these wicked people in six separate categories or symbolic classes of people that are explained in this podcast. Even though the supper of the Great God is described in highly symbolic terms, it is a literal event that will be part of the physical cleansing of the earth after the Second Coming. The physical cleansing will take months or years after the Second Coming at the start of the millennium.

[§316] Rev 19:14: Heavenly Armies [Bride] Come with Christ

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the second appearance of Jesus Christ during his Second Coming in Revelation 19:14-16, when Christ will step foot on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. These verses say: “And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” The multiple armies in these verses are different classes of exaltation-worthy people including (1) translated people from the Old Testament who were resurrected with Christ at his resurrection, (2) deceased saints from the Old Testament who were resurrected with Christ, (3) deceased saints from every age who will be resurrected when the morning of the first resurrection resumes at the Second Coming, (4) mortal saints living at the time of the Second Coming who will be translated, transfigured, or quickened and taken up to heaven to stand in the flesh with Christ on heavenly Mount Zion (Rev 14:1), and (5) the translated Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. These “armies” are all on white horses to evidence their exaltation-worthy status, just as Christ is on his white horse in an exalted state. The sword in the mouth of Jesus Christ symbolizes the power of his word, which is the word of God. The sword is probably double-edged to indicate the dual aspect of his Second Coming victory over wicked people living on earth as Physical Armageddon comes to an end, as well as his victory over spirit sons of perdition who will be conquered as Spiritual Armageddon comes to an end. Christ alone will destroy wicked people living on the earth, which will cause his vesture to become symbolically bloodstained. The white clothing of the armies is not bloodstained because they do not participate in the physical slaughter of telestial-worthy people. Christ alone treads the winepress to crush wicked people like grapes. The name-title of King of kings and Lord of lords describes the absolute sovereignty of Christ over all kingdoms both political and ecclesiastical. The name is written on both his bloodstained vesture and his thigh making it symbolically conspicuous and connected with his power to destroy all evil.

[§314] Rev 19:11-21: Christ’s Second Coming at the End of Armageddon

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John to describe the Second Coming of Jesus Christ in Revelation 19:11-21. This podcast first provides an overview of all these verses and then gives a specific explanation about the names and attributes of Jesus Christ found in Revelation 19:11-13, which states: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.” In these verses, Christ is identified by four names, using the world number four. He is also described by the sacred and universal number of seven different attributes, as follows: The adjectives Faithful and True describe the first two names of Christ as well as his first two attributes. The description of his flaming eyes and his many crowns are his third and fourth attributes. Christ’s third name and fifth attribute is a name written that no man knoweth. His sixth attribute is a vesture dipped in blood. Finally, his fourth name and seventh attribute is the word of God. The symbolism and meaning of these four names and seven attributes are described in more detail during this podcast.

[§310] The Marriage Supper at New Jerusalem [Zion]

This podcast explains in detail the marriage supper of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) on earth at New Jerusalem (Zion) in Missouri after the marriage of the Lamb on heavenly Mount Zion at the Second Coming. This explanation includes a description of the three classes or categories of persons who attend the marriage supper including (1) exaltation-worthy saints represented by the bride of Christ, who are also members of the Church of the Firstborn, (2) groomsmen and bridesmaids who are worthy of celestial glory but not exaltation. They are members of the general assembly of the Church of the Firstborn. (3) Finally, there are other “guests" who are also celestial worthy. These classes of attendees are reflected in three separate parables of the Savior including the parable of the marriage supper in Matthew 22, the parable of the wedding guests in Luke 14, and the parable of the 10 virgins in Matthew 25. Among these three categories of people who attend the marriage supper, there are two types of people. They include those who are resurrected or translated, as well as those who are disembodied spirits of deceased persons and mortal people. All people who attend the marriage supper must be celestial worthy, which means they live celestial law. The translated people who attend the marriage supper include those people who are still living at the time of the Second Coming, and who are translated, transfigured, or quickened at the end of the second woe to be lifted up and stand in the flesh with Christ on heavenly Mount Zion as recorded in Revelation 14:1-5. The translated people also include the Lost Ten Tribes, who were translated about 570 AD. The resurrected people who attend the marriage supper include exaltation-worthy people who are dead at the time of the Second Coming, but rise from their graves at the end of the Second Woe when the morning of the first resurrection resumes. These persons stand in the flesh with Christ on heavenly Mount Zion and then descend with him as his bride to attend the marriage supper after the Second Woe and start of the Third Woe when Christ suddenly appears at his temple in Independence Missouri during his first appearance of the Second Coming.

[§308] Rev 19:7-8: Marriage of the Lamb and His Wife [the Church]

This podcast explains the symbolism and imagery used by John in Revelation 19:7-9 to describe the marriage of the Lamb in heaven on Mount Zion, and the marriage supper of the Lamb on earth at the Second Coming. These verses say: “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed [are] they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” Honor is given to God the Father, when the marriage of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) is come during the Third Woe of the seventh seal at the Second Coming. The wife of Christ represents the exaltation-worthy saints from all ages, who have prepared themselves by obedience to all God's commandments. Their righteousness is symbolized by the clean, white, and fine linen cloth that they are worthy to wear as a wedding dress. They are granted this privilege because of their righteousness and the grace of God through the atonement of Jesus Christ. Revelation 19:19 expresses the fourth of seven beatitudes found in the book of Revelation. In this verse, all celestial-worthy people called to the marriage supper of the Lamb are blessed. The marriage supper will occur on earth at New Jerusalem (Zion) in Missouri at the time of Christ’s first appearance of the Second Coming when he comes suddenly to his temple in Independence, Missouri. Isaiah calls the marriage supper the feast of fat things and the Doctrine and Covenants refers to it as a supper of the house of the Lord, connecting the exalting ordinances of the temple with those who attend the marriage supper as a bride of Christ. During the marriage supper, Christ will partake of the sacrament with all the celestial-worthy attendees from all ages. The marriage supper is a feast distinguished from, and opposite of, "the supper of the great God” described by John in Revelation 19:17-18. During this second metaphorical meal, flesh-eating beasts feast upon the dead bodies of the wicked who die at the Second Coming.
