Temporada 1
Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda
Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda What happens when life reminds you that you're not in control? After historic flooding devastated communities across central Indiana, this episode wrestles with a question that reaches far beyond the floodwaters: Do we really trust God—or do we only trust Him when life is going where we think it should? We say, “Here am I, Lord, send me,” but too often we add our own conditions. We say, “Jesus, take the wheel,” but then we start steering with our knees. In this episode of Unleashed, we talk about trusting God, surrendering control, following the leading of the Holy Spirit, and learning to stop “shoulding” on ourselves. What's the difference between faith and passivity? Between wisdom and fear? How do we do what's ours to do while trusting God with what isn't? Faith isn't doing nothing and calling it trust. Faith is doing what God has put in your hands—and trusting Him with what He hasn't. You can't control tomorrow, so stop sacrificing today trying to. You go. You do. You live. No more shoulda, woulda, coulda. And for those of you who remember me from my years in music, I've put together a brand-new original song specifically for this episode. Stay through the end to hear “Shoulda Woulda Coulda.” Scripture: Isaiah 6:8, Isaiah 43:2, John 10:10

The Day the Predator Became the Prey
What do lions, African safaris, bowhunting, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ have in common? More than you might think. In this episode of Unleashed, Brent Henderson takes you deep into the African bush, where predators patiently study their prey before launching an attack. Through true stories from Africa, personal hunting experiences, and biblical truth, Brent reveals how Satan operates in much the same way—watching, waiting, whispering lies, and looking for the perfect opportunity to steal, kill, and destroy. But the cross changed everything. When Jesus was crucified and laid in the tomb, Satan believed he had won. What he never saw coming was Resurrection Sunday—the day the predator became the prey. In this episode you'll discover: • Why the Bible compares Satan to a roaring lion (1 Peter 5:8) • What Africa teaches us about spiritual warfare • The incredible true story of South African ranger Harry Wolhuter's lion attack and miraculous survival • How predators study patterns—and why the enemy studies ours • Practical lessons from trail cameras, bowhunting, scent control, and stealth • How to recognize and defeat the lies of the enemy with the truth of God's Word • Why the resurrection of Jesus forever changed the battle Brent also shares how his new eight-week men's Bible study, The Big Five Mankillers: Declawing the Lies of the Enemy, equips men to recognize Satan's lies, replace them with God's truth, and become dangerous for good. A free downloadable Facilitator's Guide is available at WarnerPress.org, making it easy for any man to lead this study with his church, small group, or band of brothers. The episode concludes with Brent's powerful new original song, "The Day the Predator Became the Prey." If you've ever battled fear, shame, temptation, discouragement, or the enemy's lies, this episode will remind you that because of Jesus Christ, the battle has already been won. Remember... we are the resistance.
Do They See the Face of Jesus... or Just Me?
Do people see the face of Jesus when they encounter you—or do they just see you? In this episode of Unleashed, Brent Henderson shares powerful lessons from the hunting woods about what others see, hear, and experience through our lives. Drawing from his weekend at the World Deer Expo, Brent connects a hunter’s desire not to be seen, heard, or smelled with three important questions every follower of Christ should ask: What do people see when they look at me? What do they hear when I speak? What aroma do I leave behind after I’m gone? Through unforgettable stories involving a hunter struggling with anger, a generous hotel concierge, an injured Uber driver, an unexpected airport conversation about a failing marriage, and a young woman Brent met on an airplane nearly ten years ago, this episode reveals how God can use ordinary moments as divine appointments. Based on the biblical truth that believers are called to be “the aroma of Christ,” Brent challenges us to live in a way that points people beyond ourselves and toward Jesus. Before your next conversation, meeting, or trip into the woods, ask yourself: Do they see the face of Jesus—or do they just see me?
The Lion Lives in Me: Picking Up My Sword Again
What if the greatest battle you're facing isn't against the world—but against the lie that you're not enough? In this deeply personal episode, Brent Henderson shares how wounds and discouragement caused him to lay down his music for nearly twenty years, and how God called him to pick it back up again. He also reflects on the lessons learned after open-heart surgery and the powerful reminder spoken over him in the hospital: "Until Jesus calls you home, you are invincible." If you've ever felt disqualified, ashamed, or like your best days are behind you, this episode is a reminder that God isn't finished with you. The lion still lives within every man who belongs to Christ. It's time to rise, embrace your calling, and pick up your sword again!
I'm Going Home
Episode 157: I’m Going Home — Finding Hope in the Face of Death, Grief, and Loss What happens when death suddenly feels close? In this deeply personal episode of the Unleashed Podcast, Brent Henderson wrestles with mortality, grief, loss, and the Christian hope of heaven after receiving the unexpected news that his longtime friend Mark Apple had died from a sudden heart attack. Just 48 hours earlier, Brent had witnessed a serious motorcycle accident and found himself kneeling beside an injured woman trapped beneath a vehicle, holding her hand and praying. Coming less than a year after Brent’s own quadruple bypass heart surgery, these moments brought one unavoidable truth into sharp focus: life is fragile, tomorrow is not promised, and every one of us is going home someday. Brent also shares the powerful story behind “I’m Going Home,” a song he wrote in 1988 while traveling across the plains of eastern Colorado. Inspired by thoughts of his grandmother and the promise of heaven, the song would later take on even deeper meaning when it was used at both his father’s and mother’s funerals. This episode is an honest conversation about death, grief, losing someone you love, facing your own mortality, and finding hope in Jesus Christ when life hurts the most. It is a reminder that for those who know Christ, death does not have the final word. In this episode: Coping with the sudden death of a friend Finding Christian hope in grief and loss Facing mortality after major heart surgery What the Bible says about heaven and eternal life How tragedy can remind us what truly matters The story behind Brent Henderson’s song “I’m Going Home” Finding peace when tomorrow is not promised Why faith in Jesus changes the way we face death Make sure you listen all the way to the end for the song “I’m Going Home” — a song written nearly four decades ago that carries more meaning today than ever before. If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who is grieving, hurting, or needs to be reminded that even in the face of death, there is still hope. We are the Resistance.
I Will Praise You In The Fire
Episode 156: I Will Praise You in the Fire What do you do when the place where God once began restoring your heart suddenly goes up in flames? High in the Colorado Rockies sits a small hand-built cabin overlooking a valley that has become one of the most meaningful places in Brent’s life. Years ago, during one of the darkest seasons he had ever faced, Brent stood on that mountainside as a broken man—carrying layer upon layer of loss and wondering if life could ever feel whole again. It was there that God impressed a promise on his heart: “I will restore to you the years the locusts have eaten.” Brent had not only walked these mountains, ridges, and valleys many times, but it was where he loved going to see the glory of God on display and to take his struggles and hurts to God. Then, just days ago, Brent received a picture that stopped him cold. The mountain was on fire. Flames more than one hundred feet high were racing through the same wilderness where God had met him time and time again. This wasn’t simply a beautiful place on a map. It was a place deeply woven into his story—a place of memories, prayer, healing, and restoration. In this deeply personal episode of Unleashed, Brent shares what wildfires, burn areas, biblical faith, grief, loss, restoration, and the fiery furnace have taught him about trusting God when the landscape of life changes overnight. Drawing from the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, the promise of Isaiah, and his own journey through devastating loss, Brent explores a hard but hope-filled truth: the fire may change the landscape, but it does not get the final word. God does. Maybe your fire is a broken marriage. A diagnosis. A funeral. A betrayal. Financial loss. A child who walked away. One bad decision. One phone call that changed everything. The ashes are not the end of your story. God is still restoring. Still redeeming. Still bringing beauty from ashes and life from places that look dead. And sometimes, what looks destroyed today may become the most beautiful part of the mountain tomorrow. This episode concludes with a brand-new original song born from the fire and written to bring hope and healing to anyone walking through the flames: “I Will Praise You in the Fire.” If you are grieving, rebuilding, questioning God, walking through loss, or wondering whether life can ever be beautiful again, this episode is for you. Because God is faithful before the fire, faithful in the fire, and faithful after the fire.
Keep Checking The Stringer
What if the greatest loss in your life didn't happen during the fight—but after the victory? In Episode 155 of Unleashed, Brent Henderson shares the unforgettable story of landing the biggest northern pike of his life on Big McKenzie Lake in northern Wisconsin... only to lose it hours later without even realizing it. That true story becomes a powerful illustration of how marriages, families, friendships, and even our relationship with God can slowly drift when we stop checking on what matters most. Along the way, Brent takes listeners from the icy waters of Alaska and giant halibut to a quiet Wisconsin lake, weaving together unforgettable outdoor adventures with timeless biblical truth. Through the life of Samson, he reminds us that our greatest strength has never come from our abilities—it comes from our relationship with God. If you've been so busy building a career, chasing success, growing a ministry, or simply surviving life's demands that you've neglected the relationships that matter most, this episode is for you. You'll discover why the biggest losses in life rarely happen all at once... and why it's time to keep checking the stringer. SIX DAYS ADRIFT
What happens when an overnight fishing trip in Alaska turns into a six-day survival story? In this episode of Unleashed, Brent Henderson shares the untold side of being stranded off the remote Aialik Peninsula in Kenai Fjords National Park after a mechanical failure left four men waiting days for rescue. Along the way, they crossed open water in a 15-foot Zodiac, nearly paid the price for getting too close to Holgate Glacier when a chunk of ice the size of Walmart calved into the ocean, and spent sleepless nights wondering if the anchor holding their boat would survive the storm. But this episode isn't just about surviving Alaska. It's about what happens inside a man when life goes sideways. Brent opens up about fear, future thinking, brotherhood, and the power of having men around the table who help build courage when the storm refuses to let up. Along the way, he explores why men are drawn to awe and adventure, why challenge awakens the soul, and how trials can reveal strength, character, and faith. Drawing from James chapter 1 and Ecclesiastes chapter 4, Brent reminds us that we were never meant to fight alone and that sometimes the greatest lessons are learned while we're waiting for rescue. Whether you're facing uncertainty in your marriage, family, finances, health, or faith, this episode will encourage you to stop wasting the wilderness and trust that God is using even the storms to prepare you for what's ahead. Plus, Brent shares information about his new book, The Big 5 Mankillers: Declawing the Lies of the Enemy, an eight-week study designed to help men break free from the lies that keep them stuck and rediscover God's purpose for their lives. We are the resistance.
Alaska Will Eat Your Lunch
Alaska is breathtaking, wild, and unforgettable—but if you're not prepared, Alaska will eat your lunch. In this episode of Unleashed, Brent Henderson shares a story from the shores of Deep Creek along Alaska's Cook Inlet, where a night of pounding rain, fierce winds, and a storm-tested tent nearly derailed an unforgettable clamming adventure. Using stories from Alaska, razor clam digging, and real-life conversations about unhealthy relationships, Brent explores the importance of guarding your heart, protecting your peace, setting healthy boundaries, and refusing to allow the lies and negativity of others to define your identity. Brent also welcomes ATSKO as the first official sponsor of the Unleashed podcast, sharing how years of trusting ATSKO products in the outdoors taught him an important lesson: if you don't protect what matters before the storm arrives, you'll pay for it later. Because just as waterproofing keeps the storm outside your tent, healthy boundaries help keep destructive influences from taking root in your soul. If you've ever struggled with people-pleasing, carrying someone else's emotional baggage, or losing yourself in unhealthy relationships, this episode will challenge you to protect what God has entrusted to your care.
